Reed has eliminated the application fee.
It doesn’t seem like much, but I can say as a former Admission employee that it should greatly improve access to applications for students of less means.
Applying for fee waivers takes time and documentation that might not be available, especially for students whose parents aren’t familiar with the system and who have ineffective college advising. Paperwork and forms get lost, and it can be a time suck to recreate.
I’m proud of my alma mater. It’s not the end of the road, but it’s a step.
